Dr. Morgan Maharty was born and raised in Northeastern Pennsylvania before moving with her family to Williamsburg, Virginia during her high school years. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Biological Sciences from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University in 2017. She also holds a minor in Chemistry. She then moved to Philadelphia to earn her doctorate at the Pennsylvania College of Optometry at Salus University. Her academic achievements include honors in Low Vision as well as completing rotations at both Virginia Eye Consultants and the WG Bill Hefner VA Medical Center in Charlotte, North Carolina.
Dr. Maharty is a member of the American Optometric Association, Virginia Optometric Association and the Tidewater Optometric Association.
In her free time, Dr. Maharty enjoys spending time with her fiancé and family, watching college sports, cheering on the VT Hokies and trying new restaurants. She is excited to be a part of Southern Eyecare Associates!
